Population genetics, evolutionary biology and epidemiology of crop pathogens in a changing environment. Focus on genetic variability for traits under selection as well as non-selective traits (random DNA-fragments), rates of evolution and dispersal. Assessment of host resistance as expressed from leaf tissue to crop canopy. Host-pathogen systems: Rusts and powdery mildews and new emerging diseases on cereals with emphasis on wheat rusts.
